This plant used to be named as Oldenlandia cristata as listed in the 2009 Singapore Flora Checklist. I was rather puzzled when a search for the name Oldenlandia cristata in the Plants of the World Online website yielded no result. Fortunately, the answer was found in the Flora of Singapore (Rubiaceae) published in 2019 (page 123). It seemed to indicate that Oldenlandia cristata was a provisional name. The current accepted botanical name should be Hedyotis prostrata.
The iNaturalist website was still using the name Oldenlandia cristata as of 12 November 2022. There were 5 observations then, 3 from Singapore; 1 from Malaysia; 1 from Hong Kong.
